Le ciliegie: tante virtù….

E’ tempo di ciliegie!!!

Ne esistono diversi tipi: di colore normalmente rosso, possono spaziare, a seconda della varietà dal giallo chiaro al rosso nerastro; anche la polpa assume colorazione e consistenza diverse a seconda della varietà e passa dal bianco al rosso quasi nero e dal tenero al croccante.

Le ciliegie, oltre ad avere poche calorie, sono quasi prive di grassi e proteine e contengono zuccheri semplici, sottoforma di fruttosio, che le rende adatte anche agli obesi ed ai diabetici.

Molto  gustose, sono ricche di sostanze nutrienti e curative che ne conferiscono tante virtù terapeutiche.

L’ elevato contenuto di fibre le rende ottime alleate nelle diete dimagranti e per la cura della stipsi.

La forte presenza di flavonoidi  rende le ciliegie un ‘ottima fonte di antiossidanti, utili contro i radicali liberi; tra i flavonoidi, gli antociani ( pigmenti che conferiscono alla ciliegia il suo tipico colore rosso-violetto) trasformano tale frutto un vero toccasana per il dolore e le infiammazioni.

L’acido malico e numerose altre sostanze, nonché la grande presenza d’ acqua , svolgono un’importante azione depurativa e diuretica, rendendolo un ottimo alimento per ridurre l’ipertensione arteriosa.

Forniscono grande quantità di Potassio, soprattutto quelle più dolci.

I polifenoli e la vitamina  PP aumentano la resistenza dei capillari.

Tra i pochissimi frutti a contenere melatonina, possono aiutare a combattere l’insonnia.

COME CONSERVARLE: in luogo fresco, in frigo va bene, in un sacchetto di carta, mai nella plastica perché così il sapore e le vitamine durano più a lungo.

HOW TO KEEP: in a cool place in the fridge is fine, in a paper bag, never in plastic so because the flavor and vitamins last longer.
